14:Sustainable + Resilient Funding

The Indy Region has a track record of investing in ways that allow us to punch above our weight class as a mid-size Midwest city. These investments have helped us create the best convention city in the nation, host an NFL and NBA team in world-class venues, capitalize on youth and amateur sports, and support an amazing array of cultural institutions. These investments, at the core of our tourism and hospitality industry, also make it more challenging in a relatively low-tax, low-wealth, and low-density region to sustain this momentum while also maintaining what we’ve built. It is imperative that we evaluate the long-term funding needs and capacity of our region to maximize the stewardship of these limited funds.
