5C: Neighborhood Identity + Placemaking Assistance
To promote resident pride and celebrate the diversity of neighborhood personalities, develop a program that supports smaller-scale, neighborhood-driven placemaking projects. This program could include packaging professional branding with implementation assistance like graphic design, landscape design, and artistic concepts, as well as grant support for physical implementation.
Value to the CommunityNeighborhood-driven placemaking efforts allow each neighborhood to exhibit its pride and express its identity as something unique. Placemaking elements also increase the visual appeal of our streets.
Value to the Hospitality IndustryAs more visitors desire authentic local experiences, supporting neighborhood-led efforts to distinguish and enhance themselves helps to portray our authenticity. Banners, public art, gateway elements, and other streetscape enhancements also increases visual appeal of Indy's streets.
Priority + Progress
Monitoring priorities are the middle 60% or so of actions that TTI is keeping its eye on and supporting as needed.
The encourage role means TTI is offering encouragement to partners pursuing this action. This is the least-involved type of role and typically applicable when partners don't need much help.
