9A: Corridor Placemaking + Beautification
If front porches are how we welcome visitors to our homes, our streets are how we welcome them to our city. Support investments in streetscapes that enhance the quality of place, including thematic treatments that celebrate adjacent communities and attractions. A specific emphasis should include thematic treatments for pathways, whether trails, bikeways, or streets, that connect downtown with near-downtown destinations like The Children’s Museum, Newfields, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Value to the Community
Vibrant streetscapes not only provide the paths to access places, but they provide value for adjacent properties, celebrate the communities they pass through, and build resident pride in the Indy experience.Value to the Hospitality Industry
Streetscapes, particularly those frequented most by visitors and those leading to key attractions, contributes to a visitor's perception of those attractions and the broader community.Updates
