8B: Regional Blueways
Build on the White River Vision Plan to protect, restore, and enhance smaller tributary waterways. These tributaries can extend the idea of a healthy and connected White River into additional communities throughout the region, providing signature natural corridors that become a defining element of regional quality of life and brand. Support regional and local planning and investment that elevates waterways into the Indy experience.
Value to the Community
Most residents live a short walk or bike ride from a smaller waterway, and many of the region's historic small towns are anchored by such a stream. Using these streams to connect neighborhoods, parks, commercial districts, and community attractions improves quality of life, improves mental and physical health, and promotes connections among residents.Value to the Hospitality Industry
