15A: Convention Center Space Needs Evaluation
Conduct periodic evaluations of the quantities and qualities of meeting and event spaces at the Indiana Convention Center and its connected hotels to ensure Indy remains competitive in the broader meeting marketplace. The convention industry is very dynamic with meeting needs constantly evolving and competitors constantly improving. The planning, public policy, and fiscal timelines necessary to remain responsive and competitive are not as nimble and we must continue to evaluate our needs and relative market position, conduct research accordingly, and align timelines of supply and demand as efficiently as possible.
Value to the Community
The convention center is the anchor of Indy's hospitality industry and the more than 83,000 jobs supported by visitors. Keeping this economic engine competitive is essential to preserving Indy as a convention destination, and preserving the jobs and businesses who rely on its success.Value to the Hospitality Industry
