12E: Regional Brand Development and Promotion

Lead and support continued conversations on building a regionally-supported and nationally-recognized Indy brand that synthesizes why Indy is a great place to live, visit, and grow a business. Strong brands communicate deep connections that are often emotional and inspirational. Continue to work regionally on initiatives related to brand positioning, key message development, communication tactics, promotion, and marketing approaches that will positively shift people’s awareness, interest, and utilization of the Indy region.

Value to the Community

Indy's brand is more than a graphic mark or slogan—it’s a reflection of resident pride, of regional unity, and of the quality of life it offers. Done honestly, a solid brand provides a rallying cry that brings people of diverse backgrounds together to celebrate what makes us special.

Value to the Hospitality Industry

Branding is a core element of market positioning, condensing what Indy offers and what distinguishes it into a message that resonates with residents and visitors alike. A weak or unknown brand, or one not backed up by reality, inhibits Indy's ability to position itself as an attractive and competitive place to bring business.

Updates

  • May 2024. Branding Indy Initiative Launches. Convened by the Indy Chamber, dozens of organizations and communities are working on a regional branding initiative to help coalesce around a clear message about what makes Indy unique and attractive.
