13D: Hospitality Workforce Communication Platform
Develop a platform that allows Visit Indy to communicate directly with industry workers, including sharing information about upcoming major events, employment and professional development opportunities, and advocacy opportunities. While such information currently may be shared through major employers, we lose touch with these employees during periods of unemployment, and with an increasingly independent workforce, there’s a lack of access to this information that would be of interest for their work.
Value to the Community
Sharing information about events, opportunities, and issues within the hospitality industry directly with the residents who make up this workforce will keep them better informed, more engaged, and provides additional opportunity. Such information is of particular benefit to entrepreneurs and independent contractors, who can plan schedules and investments with more information.Value to the Hospitality Industry
Current industry communication platforms rely largely on sharing of information, such as upcoming events or advocacy opportunities, with key contacts at businesses and attractions. With an increasingly independent workforce, and during times of high unemployment, we lack the ability to effectively reach one of the most important aspects of our visitor experience—the front-line workers.Updates
